AppleTree Southwest

AppleTree Early Learning Public Charter School will re-open its Southwest campus in a new location for the school year 2021; enrollment capacity will be six classes, 130 students.

If you are matched with this campus, you will need to complete the enrollment process and secure your child’s seat by submitting all required documents to our enrollment team at our main office located 1801 Mississippi Ave, SE 3rd floor (THEARC West). My School DC will publish the lottery results on March 27th. All matched families will be sent an email outlining instructions on the enrollment process no later than Monday, March 30th.

In-Person School Tours

All AELPCS schools will hold in-person school tours by appointment only. Due to Covid-19, tours and enrollment appointments are at a maximum of 3-5 people at a time.

  • All school tours will take place every Tuesday from 9:30am – 10:30am & 11:00am – 12:00pm and every Thursday from 4:30pm – 5:30pm & 5:00pm – 6:00pm.
  • In-person enrollment appointments are available every Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:30am – 3:30pm and every Thursday from 4:30pm – 7:00pm.

Meet the Principal


Shirvon Smith has been an educator for the past 22 years. Prior to coming to AppleTree in 2018, she worked as a preschool teacher and a Dean of Students in Charlotte, North Carolina. Shirvon has a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, an administrative license in School Leadership, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She is excited to be a part of the AppleTree Southwest family and she is looking forward to building relationships with families and staff.
