The AppleTree Early Learning Oklahoma Avenue campus opened in 2011 to expand the options for strong early childhood education programs in Ward 7. The school is located within the Kingman Park community, and we regularly partner with the St. Benedict the Moor church to use its large banquet space for special events such as the Winter Celebration and Stepping Up Ceremony.
Today, AppleTree’s Oklahoma Avenue campus is proud to serve 160 children in 8 classrooms. Oklahoma Avenue values family involvement, as we know it is an integral part of a student’s success in school. Families are given the opportunity to participate in their children’s classroom on a regular basis, and we have parent workshops and trainings at least once a month. Our families have developed strong relationships with each other and our Parents At AppleTree group is very active in planning activities and supporting the school.
