AppleTree Institute for Education Innovation
Our Mission
The mission of AppleTree Institute for Education Innovation (“AppleTree”) is to provide accelerated early language and literacy programs to the underserved preschoolers of Washington, DC to raise the trajectory of their future learning success.
AppleTree’s evidence-based instructional program features an aligned professional development and assessment system designed to close the achievement gap before children enter elementary school.
Today AppleTree Early Learning PCS operates seven charter preschool sites—serving 620 children—in Washington, DC’s four quadrants.
Through a federal Early Reading First grant, AppleTree’s DC Partnership for Early Literacy provides evidence-based teacher training, data-driven professional development, assessment and evaluation to three charter schools across seven campuses.
The work of AppleTree Institute for Education Innovation would not be possible without our dedicated supporters, Board of Directors, Every Child Ready Advisory Board and staff.
