AppleTree Institute to Release Report on Impressive Pre-Kindergarten Gains

Washington, DC - May 4, 2010 -- The AppleTree Institute for Education Innovation will release a new research study evaluating the success of the DC Partnership for Early Literacy, entitled "Preparing All Kids for the Race: Building Preschool Children's Academic, Language and Social Competencies to Close the Achievement Gap". The study, conducted by Dr. Craig Ramey of Georgetown University's Center for Health and Education, finds impressive and statistically significant gains in language, pre-literacy skills, and pre-mathematics skills with effect sizes in the range of .24 to .80, well above that normally seen in education research.

This event, originally scheduled for April 28th, has been rescheduled to May 4th from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm (featuring a buffet lunch) at the Edison Electric Institute, 701 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW (adjacent to the Navy/Archives Metro Station.)
